Over 60 000 Bulgarian participants have joined the Erasmus + educational programme

Broad-scale conference brought hundreds of participants together at Inter Expo Center
 
With a broad-scale conference, accompanied by numerous discussions and workshops, the Human Resource Development Center (HRDC) celebrated 20 years since its establishment.   The EU Commissioner for Innovation and Youth Mariya Gabriel, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev, Minister of Youth and Sport Krasen Kralev and CEO of HRDC Petyo Kanev took part in the event, held in  "Vitosha" hall at Inter Expo Center.
 
The Conference "20 years of Human Resource Development  Center – " Erasmus + – Changing lives, Opening minds " provided an opportunity to make an overview of the projects and activities carried out in Bulgaria with the support of the largest programme for education, training, youth and sport of the EU - the Erasmus + programme and the “European Solidarity Corps” Programme. Successful projects, having been  finalised in 2019 were awarded at the event and   a plenary session was held to discuss the future of the Erasmus + programme.
 
"60 000 Bulgarian participants and 1300 organizations from the country have benefited so far from the opportunities provided by the program; 2000 young people have registered to participate in the European Solidarity Corps Programme”, Mariya Gabriel commented.

Erasmus + was defined as "The most useful programme of the European Union" by the Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev. According to the information provided by the Minister of Youth and Sport Krasen Kralev, Bulgaria takes the fourth place among the other countries in the EU in terms of the submitted projects under the programme.
