The development and future of the Bulgarian automotive industry is in the focus of the Automotive Forum Sofia event

Within the next five years, over 100,000 workers are expected to be employed in the automotive sector. These are the sector forecasts presented at the opening of Automotive Forum Sofia. The forum is being held in Vitosha Hall at Inter Expo Center on October 18 and 19, within the framework of the event Automotive Forum & Expo Sofia, organized by Inter Expo Center and Automotive Cluster Bulgaria. The exhibition "Automotive Expo Sofia" held from 18th to 21st October focuses on after-sales service and everything needed for passenger cars, light commercial and heavy goods vehicles, while visitors will be able to discover the latest technologies and components in the automotive sector.

The opening ceremony of Automotive Forum Sofia was attended by Rosen Plevneliev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria in the period 2012-2017, Lachezar Borisov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Inter Expo Center Manager Ivaylo Ivanov and Lyubomir Stanislavov - Executive Director of Automotive Cluster Bulgaria.

"Bulgaria is becoming more and more important on the map of the automotive industry," said Rosen Plevneliev. He stressed that the sector has a mission, vision and development plan, and the results show that the employed efforts are in the right direction.

According to the data presented, the automotive industry generates more than 5% of Bulgaria's gross domestic product. Registering growth in recent years, the automotive sector has a multiplier effect because it is linked to many sectors, including metallurgy, machine building, electronics and electrical engineering as well as the ICT sector. The attending guests expressed the view that the event will contribute to the creation of new contacts and will attract future investments.

The specialized forum Automotive Forum Sofia will consist of three elements: International Conference, B2B Meeting Platform and Job Fair. Along with the lectures with practical advice on topical issues from representatives of leading global automotive companies, the forum will open doors to new markets, bringing together small, medium and large businesses with global manufacturers and local government. Automotive Career Days will also enable anyone who wants to start or develop their careers in the automotive industry, students, IT specialists, engineers, HRs. Access to Automotive Forum & Expo Sofia will be done through tickets, printed and electronic invitations. The exhibition will be open to visitors every day from 10.00 to 18.00 and on October 21, when the admission is free, the opening hours will be until 16.00.
